Indonesia is a country with a high level of seismic activity, making earthquake-resistant design a crucial requirement in building construction. Residential houses, as a primary necessity for society, are often designed without adequate structural calculations, which makes them vulnerable to damage during earthquakes. This study aims to redesign a two-story residential building by applying the Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) system in accordance with SNI 2847:2019, SNI 1726:2019, and SNI 1727:2020. The case study is located in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali, which is categorized as a moderate-to-high seismic zone. The research method used is descriptive analysis with structural modelling carried out in ETABS v22. The data utilized include existing architectural drawings, material properties, and seismic parameters based on site coordinates. The analysis considers gravitational loads (dead and live), environmental loads (wind), and earthquake loads using both equivalent static and response spectrum dynamic methods. The results show that the optimal dimensions of structural elements are 300×300 mm columns, 250×350 mm beams, and 120 mm slabs. Structural performance checks indicate that the fundamental period, base shear, inter-story drift, and mass participation ratio satisfy the requirements of SNI. The reinforcement design also complies with the minimum provisions of SNI 2847:2019. Therefore, the proposed design enhances the safety and seismic resilience of residential buildings.
