Abstract

Construction projects are a series of activities related to the effort of building a structure or facility, involving planning, design, management, and execution. One of the common issues in construction projects is delay. The IT Facility Construction Project of BRI Tabanan is one such project that experienced delays. This research uses secondary data obtained from project documents, namely the Budget Plan (RAB) and the initial project schedule (time schedule). Based on this data, acceleration measures were implemented to reduce both project duration and costs.

Generally, duration acceleration in projects is carried out using effective and efficient methods. In this study, the fast-track method was applied to address the project delay. Fast-track is a project acceleration method that involves conducting several activities in parallel within the schedule. Project delays typically impact the overall project cost.

The results of this study show that the implementation of the fast-track method was able to reduce the project duration by 39 days, or 13.08% from the original duration of 298 days. This time reduction had a significant effect on the project cost, resulting in a cost saving of IDR 129,987,000.00, or approximately 0.41% of the initial total project cost of IDR 31,189,698,907.00.
