Jalan Imam Bonjol is one of the main roads in Denpasar City that has experienced increased traffic volume, especially during peak hours. The presence of JB School along this road contributes to additional vehicle activity, particularly during student drop-off and pick-up times, which disrupts traffic flow. Traffic becomes unstable and vehicle speeds decrease due to increased side friction. This study aims to analyze the performance of the road segment affected by JB School by measuring traffic volume, road capacity, free flow speed, degree of saturation, and level of service. In addition, a solution simulation is conducted to evaluate the impact of improvement scenarios on road performance. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach based on the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) 1997. Primary data were collected through traffic volume surveys and side friction observations. The analysis was carried out in two directions (towards Kuta and towards Denpasar) under two conditions: school days and non-school days. The solution simulation involved lane widening and rerouting school access points. The analysis results show that on school days (Monday), the highest degree of saturation was 0,85 with level of service E towards Kuta, while towards Denpasar it reached 0,72 with level of service C. On non-school days (Sunday), the degree of saturation decreased to 0,27–0,54, with improved service levels of B and C. The solution simulation showed an average reduction in the degree of saturation of 12%, along with at least a one-level improvement in service level.
