Abstract

Road infrastructure development in hilly areas often faces slope stability problems due to excavation and cutting activities, as observed in the Shortcut Batas Kota Singaraja–Mengwitani project at point 7E in Buleleng Regency, Bali. This condition creates landslide potential that can threaten road users’ safety and disrupt transportation connectivity. This study aims to analyze the stability of the existing slope, design reinforcement using the soil nailing method, and evaluate stability changes after reinforcement. The research method applied is quantitative experimental analysis using GeoStudio 2023 (Slope/W) software with the Janbu method. The data analyzed were secondary data from the contractor, including soil investigation results, laboratory tests, and slope geometry. The results indicate that the existing slope has a Safety Factor (SF) of 1.016, which is still at the minimum limit and prone to failure. After applying soil nailing reinforcement with nail lengths varying between 9.5–44 m, the SF significantly increased to 3.239. This proves that the soil nailing design effectively enhances slope stability to meet geotechnical standards.
