Abstract

Asphalt pavement compaction is a critical stage in road construction that requires precision in both timing and quality. This study aims to analyze the productivity of heavy equipment used in the compaction process, specifically the tandem roller and pneumatic-tired roller, on the road project at Surapati Street, Denpasar City. The main objectives are to evaluate the productivity levels of each machine, determine the number of equipment units required on-site, and estimate the duration needed to complete the compaction work as planned. The research methods include field observations and data analysis. Based on the results, the tandem roller achieved a productivity rate of 265.35 tons/hour, while the pneumatic-tired roller reached 96.77 tons/hour. For a total asphalt layer volume of 1,154.96 tons with a compaction thickness of 0.05 meters, one unit of each type of roller is required. The total time needed to complete the compaction process is seven working days. These findings can serve as a reference for planning and managing heavy equipment to improve time and resource efficiency in similar road construction projects.
