Abstract

Roads are vital infrastructure that support community mobility and regional economic growth. However, road damage remains a serious issue, including on Puri Gading Road in Jimbaran Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, which suffers from various types of surface pavement damage. This study aims to evaluate the pavement condition using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and to determine appropriate repair strategies. The PCI method was chosen due to its efficiency, simplicity (visual inspection), and ability to provide quantitative results with index values ranging from 0 to 100. Survey results showed that the most common type of damage was patching (19.23%), while the least was edge cracking (0.96%). The average PCI value was 31.44, indicating poor condition, with the highest value of 56 in Segment 4 and the lowest value of 11 in Segment 11. Based on the findings, the repair strategies are divided into three approaches: segment-based treatment, overall overlay based on the average PCI value, and reconstruction based on the damaged area percentage. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in planning efficient and appropriate maintenance for Puri Gading Road.
