Waste material is one of the critical issues encountered during the implementation of the Hilton Garden Inn Extension Construction Project in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali. This research, which focuses on the project as a case study, found several types of materials being discarded during structural work execution. An in-depth analysis was therefore conducted to identify the dominant waste materials, their contributing factors, and appropriate handling strategies. The identification of dominant materials was carried out using the Pareto diagram method, followed by calculations of waste level, waste cost, and waste index to evaluate material usage efficiency. Fault Tree Analysis was then applied to determine the root causes of material waste based on basic events. The analysis revealed that the primary waste materials include ready-mix concrete with a compressive strength of F’c 25 MPa, and reinforcement steels D10, D16, and D13. The Fault Tree Analysis results showed that the main causes of waste stem from human factors, design issues, execution errors, management deficiencies, and external influences. Accordingly, the study recommends mitigation strategies including improved supervision, workforce training, and the application of more efficient working methods.
