Abstract

Road damage is a condition where the structural and functional roads are able to provide optimal service to the traffic that crosses the road. In general, road damage is the design life of the road being passed, air checks on the road surface that cannot flow due to poor drainage, excessive repeated traffic loads (overload) which causes the road life to be shorter than planned. The Bina Marga method and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) are two methods used to assess road surface conditions. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the type and extent of damage that occurred, assessing the condition of the road surface, identifying alternatives for handling and maintaining road damage according to the type and level of damage, and determining the cost of handling the damage. The results of the study showed that the types of damage that occurred were crocodile skin cracks, curling, edge cracks, longitudinal cracks, patches, potholes, grain detachment, and sinkholes. The assessment of road conditions based on the Bina Marga Method, namely the condition of the road included in the periodic maintenance program. Meanwhile, based on the PCI Method, the road condition was found to be moderate.
