Abstract

Construction costs continue to increase significantly each year. Limited funding in project implementation requires construction to proceed efficiently and effectively. This value engineering study was conducted to generate new ideas that optimize cost without compromising quality. The aim of this research is to identify which architectural work items have the potential for value engineering, determine the most effective and efficient alternatives, and compare the initial planned project cost with the cost after value engineering analysis. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method, with data analysis carried out through the four phases of value engineering: information, creative, analysis, and recommendation. The analysis identified 19 architectural work items with potential for value engineering. The initial cost of the architectural work was Rp. 6,693,297,876.76, and cost savings of 4.96% were achieved, amounting to Rp. 6,360,986,397.84. Therefore, the final construction cost for the training building project at RSUD Bali Mandara was Rp17,665,474,658.50, with a total cost of Rp19,608,676,870.93 including 11% VAT
