Abstract

Singapadu Highway, located in Gianyar Regency, Bali, serves as a main route to various tourist destinations. However, the road is currently experiencing a number of damages, impacting its functionality and user comfort. This study was conducted to evaluate the type and extent of road damage using the Bina Marga method and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI), and to estimate the required repair costs. The study was conducted along a 3-kilometer stretch of road with a width of 6 meters. The Bina Marga method was used to identify the type of damage and determine treatment priorities based on the physical condition of the road and average daily traffic (ADR) data. Meanwhile, the PCI method provides a visual and quantitative assessment of pavement condition through a score reflecting the level of damage. The evaluation results indicated that the most common damages included alligator cracks, longitudinal cracks, edge cracks, curling, buckling, potholes, patches, and grain detachment. Overall, the road condition ranged from severely to severely damaged. The combination of the Bina Marga and PCI methods provided a more comprehensive analysis for determining appropriate repair strategies. The results of this study can serve as a reference for local governments in prioritizing road maintenance and making decisions regarding budget allocation more effectively and efficiently.
