Abstract

Roads are one of the vital infrastructures in the land transportation system that play an important role in supporting community mobility and logistics distribution. The Kalpataru Sordang Road section in Lenek District, East Lombok Regency, is a flexible-paved district road that is the main route connecting villages and for heavy vehicles to enter and exit from the surrounding mining area (quarry). This condition causes a fairly high level of road damage, so a technical evaluation is needed to determine the right handling strategy. This study aims to identify the types of damage to the road surface, evaluate the level of damage using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, and calculate the estimated repair costs needed based on the analysis results. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through direct field surveys to observe and measure the type and extent of damage on a 4.6 km road section. This study utilizes two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through direct observation in the field, which includes visual identification of the type of damage, measurement of damage dimensions (length, width, and depth), recording the location of the damage, and documentation of the existing condition of the road. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from related agencies, such as the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department of East Lombok Regency, which includes road section identity data, road geometric data, and information on the Work Unit Price (HSP) which is used as a reference in the analysis of repair cost estimates. The road section was divided into four segments based on the STA (Stationing) distance, and the Corrected Deduct Value (CDV) was calculated to obtain the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) value for each segment. The analysis results showed that the PCI value ranged from 34 to 78, with an average value of 53.25, which is included in the "fair" condition category. Based on the PCI classification, the recommended treatment for all observed sections is patching and overlay work. A cost budget estimate (RAB) was then conducted based on the volume of damage and the type of treatment recommended by the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method. The total estimated cost of the required overlay repair is Rp825,586,725.64, which includes the cost components of labor, materials (emulsified asphalt and AC-WC), and construction equipment. The results of this study are expected to provide a real contribution in making technical decisions and efficient and sustainable road maintenance policies by the authorities. The results of this research are expected to provide a real contribution in making technical decisions and policies for efficient and sustainable road maintenance by the authorities.
