Abstract

Rapid development growth necessitates thorough soil investigation to assess foundation bearing capacity, particularly for shallow foundations (footings). This study aims to analyze the correlation between cone penetration test (CPT) tip resistance (qc) values and Standard Penetration Test (N-SPT) results in determining the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. Secondary data from two projects in Bali (Pura Titi Gonggang Access Road and Gianyar Police Headquarters Building) were quantitatively analyzed using a descriptive method with Excel software. The results show a significant empirical correlation between qc and N-SPT with conversion equations N = qc × 0.277 and qc = N / 0.277. This correlation facilitates estimation of soil parameters when only one type of test data is available, supporting more accurate and efficient foundation design. The study contributes to soil bearing capacity evaluation methodologies and serves as a reference for practitioners and academics in civil engineering.
