Abstract

This study evaluates the investment of replacing conventional roof tile pressing machines with hydraulic ones at the UD. Trisna Bali factory. The background for this research is the need to analyze the profitability and risks of investing in new technology. The main objective is to assess the financial feasibility of the machine replacement, calculate the Break-Even Point (BEP), and conduct a sensitivity analysis over a 10-year period. Currently, the factory uses three conventional machines, and it is proposed to replace two of them with one hydraulic machine. The research method involves financial analysis using the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) approach with indicators such as NPV, AE, BCR, IRR, and PBP, as well as a sensitivity analysis. Non-financial aspects are also considered. The conventional machine has a capacity of 800 rooftiles/day with two workers, while the hydraulic machine (with a capacity of up to 1,250 rooftiles/day) is more efficient despite its higher price. The results show that the investment is financially feasible for both types of machines. The NPV for the conventional machine is Rp 450,496,924.60 and for the hydraulic machine is Rp 564,686,902.33 (at a 6% interest rate). The sensitivity analysis (with a 10% decrease in revenue and a 10% increase in costs, i=12%) also indicates feasibility, with the conventional NPV at Rp 38,928,018 and the hydraulic NPV at Rp 105,405,103. The BEP is reached in 2.5 years
