Abstract

This study was motivated by the severe pavement damage on Desa Sebudi Banjar Badeg Kelodan Road, Selat Sub-district, Karangasem Regency, primarily caused by heavy traffic loads, especially sand-hauling trucks, which compromise road safety and user comfort. The objectives were to identify types of pavement distress, evaluate pavement condition using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, and estimate the required repair costs based on recommended treatments. The research methodology involved a field survey of a 3 km road section divided into 30 segments, visual assessment of pavement distress types and severities, data processing through PCI analysis, and repair cost estimation. The findings indicate predominant damages such as alligator cracking, edge cracking, longitudinal cracking, potholes, depressions, patching, bumps, and corrugation, with the average PCI rating classified as poor to very poor, necessitating overlay and reconstruction treatments. The estimated total repair cost (RAB) reached approximately IDR 6,8 billion for all segments.
