Abstract

The endurance of asphalt concrete pavement against traffic loads and temperature,
depends on the type and composition of aggregates, asphalt and filler used. Many attempts
have been made to improve the quality of the mixture, such as add some different material
into the mixture. In this research, we used rubber crumb for addition material on AC-BC
mixture. The goal is to determine the characteristic of Marshall on the mixture with
addition of rubber crumb. In this study we just modified the filler (1%) with rubber crumb
from 0%; 0,25%; 0,5%; 0,75%; and 1%.
The results showed that the changing a half and all filler with rubber crumb influenced
Marshall parameters value. The highest stability value was found in the mixture of 0,25%
rubber crumb and 0,75% Portland cement. The highest flow value was found in the
mixture of 1% rubber crumb and 0% Portland cement. The lowest VIM value is in the
mixture of 0,75% rubber crumb and 0,25% portland cement. The lowest VMA value is in
the mixture of 0,75% rubber crumb and 0,25% portland cement. The highest VFB value
was found in the mixture of 0,75% rubber crumb and 0,25% portland cement
