The NSS, a pivotal strategic document, outlines Japan's foreign policy direction and includes plans to increase defence spending to 2% of GDP by 2027. It also introduces the concept of the Capability for Counterattacks, both of which signify a shift in Japan's approach to foreign policy. Japan's anti-militarism stance, rooted in Article 9 of its Constitution, prohibits the maintenance of military forces. This article aims to explore the factors driving Japan's foreign policy changes in 2022. Using a qualitative research methodology that incorporates both primary and secondary data sources, this study will analyze these factors through the lens of Coplin’s theoretical framework. According to Coplin’s Theory, changes in Japan’s foreign policy are influenced by three indicators: 1) Domestic politics, 2) Economic and military conditions, and 3) International context.
Khaira Anisa, Juan Miguel Carboni Martínez Copyright (c) 2024 SOSHUM : Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora https://scholar.google.co.id/citations?hl=id&user=ZV6y4p8AAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=pubdate https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/1749 Wed, 31 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Enhancing Community Economy through Jollong Gardens: A Local Heritage and Ecotourism Strategy https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/1923
Agrotourism in Indonesia plays a crucial role in enhancing community economic inclusiveness by providing employment and empowerment opportunities. The main issue identified is the limited student engagement in the School Literacy Movement (SLM) due to time constraints and lack of motivation, while the objective is to investigate the strategies employed by the Al Umanaa Foundation to cultivate a literacy culture. Using a qualitative method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies, focusing on participants such as school principals, literacy teams, teachers, and library managers. The study reveals that the Al Umanaa Foundation effectively adapts the literacy learning syllabus to the national curriculum, creates a conducive physical environment, and involves the community in literacy activities. Key initiatives include providing reading corners, literacy corners, and libraries, as well as engaging students in competitions and training programs. Despite encountering financial constraints and limited government support, the foundation has successfully utilized community collaborations and innovative funding strategies to sustain its literacy programs. The research concludes that a comprehensive and collaborative approach, integrating physical, social, and academic environments, is essential for cultivating a robust literacy culture. The Al Umanaa Foundation's strategies can serve as a model for other educational institutions aiming to enhance literacy and academic performance.
Supriatnoko, Hastuti Redyanita, Ida Bagus Putu Suamba Copyright (c) 2024 SOSHUM : Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora https://scholar.google.co.id/citations?hl=id&user=ZV6y4p8AAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=pubdate https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/1847 Wed, 31 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Adopting Cross-Dressing: A Strategy for Coping with Loss for a Bisexual Man https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/2043
Cross-dressing refers to the act of donning garments often associated with the opposite gender. Throughout history, cross-dressing has been extensively recorded and is frequently linked to stereotypes such as deviance, fetishism, exhibitionism, sexual deviance, and homosexuality. Coping mechanisms refer to psychological strategies employed by the subconscious mind to shield individuals from feelings of anxiety, social repercussions, and unmanageable circumstances in the immediate present. This study aimed to elucidate that Cross-Dressing is not just attributable to perceptions of sexual deviance and transvestism, but rather, other factors contribute to an individual's adoption of Cross-Dressing. The research methodology employed in this study is a single-design case study. The study found that the participants experienced the loss of their beloved mother as a catalyst for adopting a Cross-Dressing lifestyle, perceiving it as a means to compensate for the void created by her death. The findings of this study indicate that cross-dressing behaviour serves as a long-lasting method for individuals to repress their emotions related to loss rather than being primarily attributed to transvestism or preconceptions of sexual deviance associated with the subject of investigation.
Abidah R. Similar to the political relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia, there are ups and downs in the relationship between football fans in both nations. This study attempts to provide an overview of the emergence of fanaticism, conflict, and amicable interactions among Malaysian and Indonesian football fans. This study uses historical research methods, the historical method consists of 4 steps namely; (1) heuristics; (2) verification; (3) interpretation; (4) historiography. The findings indicate that the industrialization of football influences the growth of obsessive football supporters in Indonesia and Malaysia. Football is also affected by the political tension between Indonesia and Malaysia. In conclusion, because of their common origin and comparable languages, football clubs in both countries are the starting point of the friendly relationship between fans of the game in Indonesia and Malaysia. Mania, the identity of the Indonesian football culture, and Ultras Malaya, the identity of the Malaysian football culture, have emerged as distinct cultures among football fans from the two nations. The harmony that often exists between fans of Indonesia and Malaysia started to alter as a result of the positive relationships that exist between fan bases at the club level, as demonstrated above by the friendship between Aremania (Indonesia) and UltrasSel (Malaysia).
Faishal Hilmy Maulida Copyright (c) 2024 SOSHUM : Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora https://scholar.google.co.id/citations?hl=id&user=ZV6y4p8AAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=pubdate https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/1702 Wed, 31 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Distance Learning in John Stuart Mill’s Utilitarianism Perspective https://ojs2.pnb.ac.id/index.php/SOSHUM/article/view/1866
This research explores distance learning from the perspective of John Stuart Mill's utilitarianism, employing a qualitative philosophical approach for an in-depth and contextual analysis.
