Abstract

Teaching Factory (Tefa) learning model is a production/ service-based learning model in vocational schools which refers to standards and procedures applicable in the industry and is implemented in an industrial-like atmosphere. It is believed as a promising method for bridging the competency gap between the transfer knowledge in the classroom and the real-world settings. Polytechnics as Vocational Higher Education prepares human resources which are ready to be implemented in industrial life. This study is directed to investigate the teaching factory learning model in vocational higher institution/ polytechnics by combining online learning and flipped learning via Learning Management System. The data were collected through interview to selected students from thirteen study program via random sampling method. The result of this study indicated that recognizing students’ learning strategy and understanding the students’ perception in language learning could assist teachers in formulating useful teaching strategies that match the desired results.
