This research aims to analyze spelling errors contained in assignment letters issued by SMK Negeri 2 South Kuta Badung Regency and provide recommendations for improvements to improve the language quality of writing so that it complies with EYD Edition V rules. This research method uses descriptive analysis methods by collecting data from assignment letters issued by SMK Negeri 2 South Kuta Badung Regency during a certain period, then analyzed to find out the picture of the existing problems. The data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, interviews and notes. Some writing errors found in the assignment letter were errors in capital letters, errors in the use of punctuation, use of italics, use of prepositions, and writing errors. The need for guidance in writing letters issued by schools is very important. Because an assignment letter from school is a letter written officially and is not a cultural error that is justified on the basis of habit. Guidance and input from Indonesian language subject teachers should be a bridge in creating letters that are in accordance with writing good and correct Indonesian in writing so that language or writing errors do not occur in the assignment letters issued.
